+ SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT CAREERS AT CHATTEM CHEMICALS (CLICK TO READ)
Sun has become aware of job applicants being contacted by individuals falsely posing as hiring managers or employees of Sun and/or its affiliates. These individuals fraudulently have been offering non-existent employment opportunities to applicants and then asking for sensitive personal and financial information, including requiring candidates to deposit checks for the fraudulent business, or purchase supplies on behalf of the fraudulent business. The correspondence and other documents, email addresses and websites used in the scam may be made to look like they originate from Sun or its affiliates.
Please be advised that all legitimate correspondence from a Sun employee will come from “*@sunpharma.com” or “@taro.com*” email accounts. There are no variations of these email extensions. In addition, all of our current job openings are displayed on the Careers Section (hyperlink) of our website.
Sun advises candidates to review the following information about these fraudulent recruitment activities, as well as the information provided by the FTC at: https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/job-scams
How to identify a fake job ad:
  1. Imposter recruiters offer a candidate a job and send a signing bonus check. When the check bounces, they ask for the candidate’s bank account information or solicit copies of statements as a way to confirm the deposit was made.
  2. Imposter recruiters request personal information, such as address details, date of birth, resume, passport details and bank details, early.
  3. Candidates undergo interviews via Instant Messaging (e.g. AOL instant messaging, Skype, etc.) programs.
  4. Watch out for badly written emails and be suspicious of any emails not coming from an official company domain for example @sunpharma.com or @taro.com. Email correspondence can be sent from an email address that is similar to an official Sun address, but differs by one or more characters. Emails also can be made to appear legitimate to the sender on the face of the email, even though the true hyperlink (revealed by hovering over the email address) shows a non-Sun email address. Emails are also sent from accounts set up via public and/or free email hosts, such as Aol.com and Gmail.com.
  5. Always check the website addresses to ensure that they are official urls of the company you are looking at.
  6. If you found a job on a job board or third party channel, always check on official company channels (website & social media channels) to ensure that the job opening exists.
  7. Use common sense and trust your instincts. If you suspect it to be a scam, it probably is.
How to protect yourself if you suspect a scam
  1. Do NOT accept checks or send any money. Sun does not send checks or ask for money transfers or payments from applicants to secure a job, either as an employee or as a contractor.
  2. Do NOT disclose your personal or financial details to anyone you do not know.
  3. Do NOT respond to unsolicited business propositions and/or offers of employment from people with whom you are unfamiliar.
  4. Do NOT communicate further with imposter recruiters if you believe the communications may be fraudulent.
